Is there an age limit?

No there is not, however if a young person accesses the Primary NSP’s we encourage them to discuss their situation with a Counsellor.

What times are you open?

Mon to Fri 9am to 5pm, we do close for half an hour for a lunch break.

Are you a government agency?

Directions ACT is a non Government Organization that is funded by both the Local & Federal Government.

Do you have to pay?

All of the equipment from the NSP’s in the ACT are free of charge as they are fully funded by ACT Health.

Is a NSP the same as an injecting room?

No an NSP is only there for the provision of equipment, it is illegal to possess, sell or buy any drugs on the premises.

Do I have to make an appointment before I come in?

No you can just drop in.

Who uses a NSP?

People who inject drugs & people who need to dispose of injecting equipment.

What does a NSP do?

NSP’s provide people in the community with sterile injecting equipment & education.

Where are you located?

There are Primary outlets, Secondary outlets, Vending machines & Pharmacies throughout the ACT. We have two primary outlets situated at the Phillip & City Health Centres.
