The Inside Out Throughcare Program (IOTP) is funded through the Attorney Generals Department through the Proceeds of Crime ACT.

The program aims to address the following:

• alcohol and other drug issues
• recidivism
• reintegration into the wider community.

The program supports people within the Criminal Justice System, people who are exiting prison, and their families. This is done through intensive support, especially in the first 3 months after release from custody. The IOTP works closely with other programs and services provided by both DIRECTIONS ACT and external agencies.

To be eligible for the program people must have an Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs (ATOD) issue and are either:

• on remand,
• pre release, or
• post release.

Family members are also eligible for support.
