Poly drug use tends to have a huge impact on those in the community who attend night clubs, gigs, festivals and house parties etc. People who use drugs at parties mostly range from 16-28 and tend to use a variety of substances, which commonly include Methamphetamine, Ecstasy, Alcohol, and Cannabis. Psychedelics like LSD, Mushies and 2C-B are also used by this particular group of people.

The majority of people at parties who use methamphetamine often have no problem with dependence, and predominantly use the milder forms (Base or Powder), which they tend to either snort or swallow.

However, party users tend to put themselves at far greater risk through poly drug use. Combining Alcohol and Methamphetamine can increase blood pressure and put more strain on the heart. Methamphetamine generally disguises the effects of alcohol which can put the person at risk of acute alcohol poisoning. Furthermore the combination of Methamphetamine and Cannabis increases psychotic symptoms in some people, especially those with existing/or a predisposition to schizophrenia. Used together, Cannabis and Methamphetamine can dangerously raise the heart beat and can push the blood pressure high enough to cause a stroke.

Remember: Each time you take a cocktail of substances, you need to keep in mind the risks you take by mixing drugs. Overdose becomes a real concern with people who partake in poly drug use.
